Winter Dash

Winter Dash is a Christmas running game. A red cube with a Santa hat and big eyes runs along a flat floor on its own. Your job is to jump over black blocks with red edges. Some blocks have a wrapped gift sitting on top. The maker left no name in the game’s files, so we don’t know who it is. It’s not from RobTop, the team behind Geometry Dash, either.

How many levels does Winter Dash have?

Seven. The level screen shows 7 tiles, 4 on the top row and 3 below. We opened Level 1. It has a dark blue wall behind you and a thin white line for the floor. There’s no percent bar. Instead, the top of the screen shows DEATHS, SCORE and STARS.

Space bar or mouse click to jump the Santa cube?

Both. We pressed space and we clicked, and our score and stars went up either way. You don’t steer left or right. The cube runs by itself, and all you do is jump. We didn’t see a timer, so you’re not racing a clock.

Is Winter Dash a Christmas Geometry Dash?

It looks like one. The cube wears a Santa hat and there are gifts on the blocks. That simple Christmas look is the best part, and it’s easy to see what to jump. Some people ask if you can ride Santa’s sleigh. We didn’t see a sleigh anywhere. You’re a cube in a hat the whole time.

The title screen has a shop button with a cart on it and a red button with a gamepad. We didn’t press the gamepad button. We also didn’t see any ads.

Why the Winter Dash deaths counter starts at 40

This was the odd part. The first time we opened Winter Dash, DEATHS already said 40. The count carries over from earlier play and never goes back to zero. It also looks like it’s the same count as in Halloween Geometry Dash. The two are really one game underneath, with the same screens and counters and new pictures on top. So your deaths from one game show up in the other. If you want a clean start, you can’t get one.
