Geometry Dash Lava Mode

Geometry Dash Lava Mode is a game about the wave. That’s a small arrow that zigzags up and down. You steer a red and white arrow between a floor and a roof, and you dodge rows of spikes. Nobody is named as the maker in the game’s files. RobTop’s name isn’t there either, so it’s not a RobTop game.

How many levels does Lava Mode have?

It has five. The title screen is also the level list, which is handy. Each level is a little floating island made of lava rock. One has a volcano on it. The others show a skull, a fire, a lava ball and a dark rock.

Every island shows your best percent. At the start they all say 0%. None of them were locked. We clicked the first one and it opened right away. One click and you’re playing.

Lava Mode uses the wave, not the cube

In the part we played, it was always the wave. There’s no cube running and jumping. The arrow leaves a white zigzag line behind it as it goes. We used both the space bar and mouse clicks, and the arrow went up and down. We didn’t test them one at a time.

What the first lava island looks like inside

You might expect lots of lava. We didn’t see any in the part we played. The back wall is made of dark gray tiles. Thin white lines mark the floor and the roof. Rows of white spikes sit on dark purple blocks, both on top and on the bottom.

A number at the top shows how far you are. The best we did was 5%.

The islands don’t tell you how hard they are

This is the one thing we didn’t like. The islands have no names. They don’t show how easy or hard they are, either. You just see a picture and 0%, so you can’t tell which one to try first.

An upright phone shows the islands and the arrow over the full screen. The host site adds a bar at the bottom. No ads showed up in our tries.
