Geometry Dash Hardcore is a small fan game. A maker called RAFFSTUDIO put their name in the game’s files. RobTop, who made Geometry Dash, isn’t behind it. There’s no cube and no jumping here. You fly one red arrow through tunnels full of spikes. The screen stays black at the start. For us, the menu showed up after 24 seconds.

How do you start the arrow in Geometry Dash Hardcore?

Each level starts with the arrow standing still and a hand pointing at it. A quick click does nothing. The space bar and the up arrow key don’t work either. You have to press the mouse button, or your finger, and hold it down.

Then the arrow takes off. Hold and it goes up. Let go and it goes down. Its path bends in soft curves, not sharp zigzags, so it keeps sliding a little after each turn. That’s the hard part. On our first try we held for almost a second and hit the ceiling at 7%. Short taps worked much better.

Easy is blue, Normal is green, Hardcore is red

The menu has three buttons at the bottom: Easy, Normal and Hardcore. The big arrows on each side don’t pick levels. They switch between the three sets, and each set has its own color. Each set has ten levels, so there are thirty in all.

Nothing is locked. We went right into Normal without playing Easy. The red levels are much longer than the others. The first red level is as long as the last blue one.

What breaks the arrow in the green levels?

Touching the ceiling ends your run. So does anything sharp. The first green level has round saws on dark blocks, rows of small spikes and a stair of spiky diamond blocks. Watch the saws. Their teeth reach out farther than they look.

When you crash, the arrow breaks into white bits. The level goes back to 0% right away. We crashed three times and never saw an ad in between, so trying again is fast. The bad thing is that the game doesn’t keep your best score. We got to 22% on Normal, but the menu still said 0%.

Playing Geometry Dash Hardcore on a phone

Held straight up, it shrinks into a thin strip. The spikes turn into tiny dots. Turn the phone on its side before you press play.

The round gamepad button in the top left corner isn’t a setting. It opens another game website in a new tab. The speaker button turns the music off.

Games to play after the red arrow

Want a cube that jumps? The Geometry Dash game on our homepage is a copy of the first levels, with a cube. Geometry Dash Wave also has a dart you hold, but it moves in straight lines. For a break from spikes, Geometry Dash Clicker lets you click to earn points.
