Geometry Dash Horror
Geometry Dash Horror is a jumping game with a cube. It isn’t made by RobTop, the maker of Geometry Dash, and no maker’s name shows up in the game. You play in a dark red hall. The cube runs to the right by itself. You jump over spikes with the mouse button, the space bar or the W key.
For parents: the jumpscare faces in Geometry Dash Horror
When the cube crashes, a scary face covers the whole screen. There’s no warning. We crashed three times and saw three faces. One was a green monster with bulging eyes. One was a clown with a red nose and rotten teeth. The last was a pink zombie with worms coming out of its cheek.
They’re cartoons, not photos. Still, they jump out at you, and that’s the whole idea. The hall also has dark shapes of hanging people in the arches behind the cube. If your child scares easily, pick a different game.
Seven Horror levels, from Newbie to Insane
Press PLAY to get the level picker. You use the arrows to pick a level, and each one has a rank in red. Level 1 is Newbie, Level 2 is Rookie and Level 3 is Beginner. Then come Talented, Skillful and Expert. Level 7 is Insane.
These are the same seven levels as in Geometry Dash Clone, and the help line is the same too. Only the pictures, the music and the faces are new. The good part is that the picker is simple and easy to read.
We never got past the first two spikes
Each try starts with the word ATTEMPT and a number. Then the cube rolls toward two dark spikes on the floor. We let it run, held the space bar and tapped fast. The first two spikes got us every time. The jump timing is very strict.
Why doesn’t the HOME button work after you die?
After the face, a black box says YOU DIED. It has a HOME button and a MORE GAMES button, but no button to try again. On our computer, HOME did nothing. We tried the space bar and Enter too. MORE GAMES did work, but it opened a different website in a new tab.
So the only way back was to reload the page and press PLAY again. Each crash cost us about ten seconds. That’s the worst thing about it. On a phone held up straight, the game is a thin strip, and the buttons are tiny.
Games to try if the faces are too much
For the same levels without the scary faces, play Geometry Dash Clone. It starts again right after a crash, so it’s better for learning. Geometry Dash Bloodbath is dark too, but you move with the arrow keys. Geometry Dash Secret Mode has no jumping at all, since you drag the cube into a portal. The jumping games page has more.
